The Day of School: Sunshine and Smiles
Vacation on first day of school annually in Miami Dade. Morning is warm with scent of tiny amber glow and trace of fire-breathing potential.
Children arrive in new wrappings and starry-eyed grins. Teachers welcome them open-armed. Parents bid them farewell as they punch the clock for work.
New students start trickling into the classrooms. All of us are up and running by the second week. The new year starts smiling, friendly beginnings.

Autumn is where everything new unfolds and sets out the welcome mat. The clubs are open again, the teachers are back in school, and the classrooms are buzzing. The students get a whiff of science fair exhibitions, history class, and reading lists.
November is preparing for Thanksgiving and November campus events. December is ending the term with concerts, art shows, holiday goodbyes before winter break.
