Loudoun County Public Schools Calendar 2024–2025 aren’t dates. It’s an experience. It’s a story that it brings the morning bells, playground, and classroom together.
There is no usual day. Every day matters. Each week turns the page. Families are formed, students become adults, and teachers become old.
It is the year of growth and the year of love. Smile to smile and success down the corridor. LCPS calendar superimposes the calendar of time, it constructs life.
The First Day of School: New Faces and New Dreams

The first day is an anticipation day. There is clean air. The children arrive with anticipation faces and trunks laden with dreams.
Teachers smile and wave. Parents yell hello down halls. Friends say hello to friends. Some a little taller this year.
First bell sounds. School starts. New year starts.
By week’s end, first week, everything falls into routine. Students practice rhythms. Classrooms awaken again. LCPS awakens again too.

Fall is a blur. Podding classrooms hum with question and light. Children are learning rhythms. Clubs and sports pick up. Afternoons are full of art, music and movement.
Everything is fine in October. Weather begins to get cool outside. Study becomes tough. Midterms are taken by students. Leaves begin to fall, and the atmosphere turns festive.
Thanksgiving month is November. Relatives visit for thanksgiving. Party and gift in December. Organizations are winding up on a positive note with party atmosphere and warm wishes.

Winter is cold and dark. Students rush to school to get to classes. New classes and projects begin with teachers. Reading week, science fair, and art displays that fill the hallways.
Spring arrives in March. Sports season is in full swing. Clubs sponsor tournaments. Spring break looms in the minds of students.
April and May are crazy and occurred in warp speed. Concerts, plays, and field days are scheduled. The year begins to sparkle.
June is pride and unity month. Exams, awards, and graduation are the final books. Smiles and good-byes echo down the hall.
Breaks and Holidays: Time to Rest and Refocus
Breaks humble us to the low and fill ‘er up. They zest in and spice the year.

All of the breaks allow breathing and becoming.

Professional days provide time for planning for group time. Workshops give the self-confidence to try. Teamwork sparks creativity.

Emergency and Weather Days: Safety First

Safety first at LCPS. When storm or inclement weather comes, citizens are warned in advance.
Families are warned and alerted. Make-up days are scheduled as needed. Peace and safety reign.
